Pope Benedict XVI Predictions for the Future of the Church

From Professor Ratzinger

“From today’s crisis will emerge a church that has lost a great deal. It will no longer have use of the structures it built in its years of prosperity. The reduction in the number of faithful will lead to it losing an important part of its social privileges. It will become small and will have to start pretty much over again. It will be a more spiritual church and will not claim a political mandate flirting with the Right one minute and the Left the next. It will be poor and will become the Church of the destitute.”

Be vigilant!

Gospel Lk 21:25-28, 34-36

Jesus said to his disciples:
“There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars,
and on earth nations will be in dismay,
perplexed by the roaring of the sea and the waves.
People will die of fright
in anticipation of what is coming upon the world,
for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
And then they will see the Son of Man
coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
But when these signs begin to happen,
stand erect and raise your heads
because your redemption is at hand.

“Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy
from carousing and drunkenness
and the anxieties of daily life,
and that day catch you by surprise like a trap.
For that day will assault everyone
who lives on the face of the earth.
Be vigilant at all times
and pray that you have the strength
to escape the tribulations that are imminent
and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Our Lady of Fatima, Fulton Sheen,

Our Lady of Fatima, Fulton Sheen,: What Our Lady spoke of to the three little children of Fatima was a message that emphasizes that heaven is real. It also makes it clear that our supreme responsibility is to live in such a way that we may be found worthy to enter the kingdom of heaven. — Fr. Andrew Apostoli, Soul Magazine, …

The Deacon who should be a Married Priest

Deacon Dean Condon has been a pastoral administrator in the Diocese of Rochester for about 23 years, serving the Rochester faithful.  For the past twelve years he has been pastoral administrator of All Saints parish in Corning NY.

I have never met Deacon Condon or his wife or his seven children.  I have watched him on the TV mass a few times.  He'd make a great married priest.

Deacon Condon concludes his term as pastoral administrator of All Saints Parish in Corning on June 26th.

Asking Siri a question

IC:  Siri, who was elected Pope in 1958?
Siri:  Me.

Cardinal Giuseppe Siri
Conspiracy theorists love him.
They claim he was elected pope (Pope Gregory XVII).
Then it was taken away from him.

Interesting quote

“The Church will be eclipsed.  At first, we will not know which is the true pope.  Then secondly, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will cease to be offered in churches and houses; it will be such that, for a time, there will not be public services any more.  But I see that the Holy Sacrifice has not really ceased: it will be offered in barns, in alcoves, in caves, and underground.” (Abbot Paul Combe: The Secret of Melanie and the Actual Crisis, 1906, Rome, p.137.)

Trooper-Raise a Little Hell (With Lyrics)

Raise a Little Annihilation just doesn't sound right.

Annihilation is often mentioned in the Old Testament.

Hell is often mentioned in the gospels.

Annihilation vs hell is nothing new.  The debate has been going on for centuries.

Life without God should be your greatest fear.
